Godrevy and Gwithian Eyeball Surf Report
Report for 3rd JULY 2008 8.00am
Head high on the sets with light-mod W winds. Swell decreasing. Raining at the moment but should brighten up later.

General Surf Situation
A strong gusty south westerly coming through on Saturday. Making for messy conditions on exposed south coast spots. There could be something worthwhile in shelter. The north coast will also be far less clean than Friday with a choppy wave where the beach is exposed to the wind. plenty of swell around so picking the right sheltered beach will be the difference between a classic session and a very hard paddle.

Weather Forecast:
Headline:
Wet and windy, with gales along exposed coasts.

Today:
After a mainly dry and bright start rain, sometimes heavy, will move slowly northeastwards during the day. Very windy for July with gales along some exposed southern and southwestern coasts and hills. Feeling rather cool.

Tonight:
Persistent and often heavy rain across the far west this evening, mainly dry elsewhere. Later tonight the rain will drift eastwards to reach the rest of the region

Sunday:
Rain at first, perhaps locally heavy, will quickly clear away eastwards. Then sunshine and scattered heavy, perhaps thundery, showers.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
Generally unsettled with either showers or longer spells of rain, some of which will be heavy, although conditions will become dry and bright from the west Tuesday afternoon.

NOTE: The above data is for deep water ocean swells, and does not mean that waves at the beach will be that size or direction. It does however provide a valuable indication of the swell size, direction and winds for the next 72 hours. The most reliable indication of actual conditions is an Eyeball Surf Report, as on most of our surf report pages.

Gwithian and Godrevy are located at the extreme NE of St. Ives Bay - a series of breaks from Godrevy at one end to the Island in St Ives at the other. A large expanse of sand at low tide, giving way to idyllic coves at high tide. This is reckoned to be one of the best surfing areas in England
